That looks to me like the proper drive should be D:\ .... Try that

    "Proper Drive" ? Please explain.

As I've posted, I just ran the command you requested from the D:\> drive command prompt using the D:\ drive for the offline windows and boot switches (not mixed, like you said) So unless you've misunderstood what I posted, I think I've used D:\ in every way that I can imagine being considered "proper".

So, any clarification as to what you mean would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you kindly!

Disk Management is an application which requires the Windows OS to execute. Since this is my principle problem, namely not being able to reach as much as the logon screen (even in Safemode or using "Last Working Good Config") I am not able to complete your request.

    Thanks!

Perhaps this will do. I have no problemaccessing a command prompt, and diskpart is a fully functional/capible tool (just without the nice GUI - just in-case you (understandably) don't believe that my above physical media map assessment was accurate:

Disk 0 is now the selected disk.

Reading through this thread again and all the test your system has passed.
Along with the fact you do not have SP-1 installed the only thing I can think of is a Clean Install.
SFC /Scannow is a basic tool built into Windows 7 and unless the install is flawed or some sort of Tuneup, Speedup or Registry Tool has been used should work.

I would recommend using this Tutorial by Brink to guide you through a Clean Install.

    Clean Install Windows 7

Make sure you only have the drive you want the Clean Install on is hooked up.

Could you also list all the Tools or Programs you have used such as:
Clean Up Tools, Fixit Tools, Registry Tools, and Security programs.

Have you used any products by IObits??
    This information could be helpful.

    From your logs.

Actually, Service Pack One has been installed for quite a long time on my system. I'm guessing that the version information that you've posted is from the old installation DVD that I was using to boot from?!

Either way, it sounds like the general consensus is that I preform a clean install. So I guess my only options are to "find" a product key floating around out there on the internet (which of course I wouldn't do, and I don't recommend to anyone else do) or I shell-out the cash for a new windows seven installation disc set, eh?

And as far as all the INSTALLED software, I can't recover anything that I no longer have the install discs for (somhow via the windows old folder or something), like ProTools, Vegas, After Efx, Soundforge, Flash, et cetera, right? Just gotta' buy new copies of those too I'm guessing. I've found the install disc/IDs for Photoshop, Acid, Swish and a few other applications, but were still talking about ~$5,000 absolute minimum, so any chance in saving the (legitimate, paid for) copies of such applications when using a clean install?

    Thanks!

For sure their is another choice.

Take a read through this tutorial by Brink and see what you think.

    Repair Install

    I'm not understanding something.
If you have programs and their activations keys, why would it cost to install them again on a clean install on the same system?

Another choice would be backup those programs to a external drive and when the install is completed move them back to the new Install.
After all you are doing a clean install with the same operating system on the same hardware, same drivers, same chip set. I don't know why the same programs with the same activation keys wouldn't work if cleanly installed.

I myself prefer clean install of programs after a clean install of Windows 7. Then again my programs don't cost much if anything at all.

Other members might have a better idea. I don't.

Actually, a Repair Install requires access to the windows OS....please refer to post #23.

But thank you for the thought, Layback Bear!

Addition: Oops, sorry, I somehow missed the latter-half of your post!

If you read my last post closer you'll notice the following:

ProTools, Vegas, After Efx, Soundforge, Flash, et cetera I can't find the DVDs/info (including any ID numbers for).

Photoshop, Acid, Swish and a few other applications I can and will absolutely be able to reinstall.

ProTools for windows and Soundforge alone (not counting all the filter and effects I have purchased over the years) set me back probably two grand. And I'm just mentioning apps off the top of my head.

You can't back up applications (except REALLY OLD or REALY SIMPLE ones) since they require all sorts of changes to your system (e.g., registry entries) during the installation process.

    Ooooh I forgot that.

Well your down to a Clean Install unless someone else has some more ideas.

Not counting me their have been some very knowledgeable members posted in this thread.
I will still go back to the ranch and see if I can find a member with a new idea that might help.

    Just hang in there.
