Latest update: I just had someone come by to look at it -and my mam's laptop which started giving errors again... That one was thankfully a quick fix.

Mine though, long story short: it's my hard drive!! So it's going back to Toshiba and they can sort it out, hopefully they agree with the diagnosis And it will come back with Windows 8 pre-installed and I'll stick to that.
He also showed me some shortcuts for recovery points & backup and I'll be sure to use those

THANK YOU for your support. Always good to get help & to learn new things too.

    Ciao,
    Evelyn

    Hi Evelyn,

Glad you've got to the bottom of it and found a solution.

    Kind Regards,

One more question: can't you remove a thread? Delete it?
If so, how do I go about it?
    If no, why not?

    Thanks!

    Hi Evelyn,

I think you can, but I don't think you should, others will have the same problem as you and this will help them solve it/know where and what to do to solve it a lot faster.

So I think it should stay :P
