Glary Utililities not for the faint of heart

I got mouse-happy with Glary the other day and messed my system up pretty bad. The utility seems to do anything, I think that I just need to use the right settings. Any suggestions/screenshots are appreciated.

My next question is pretty much the same regarding CCleaner. IANM

I love the free version of Glary Utilities but I don't use every feature. I just use 1-Click Maintenance and click only the Registry Cleaner, spyware Remover, Temporary Files Cleaner, and Startup Manager boxes when scanning. The only utilities I use at the bottom are the Startup Manager, Uninstall Manager, and the Software Update. The rest I don't need and could cause problems.

While Glary is one of the better ones for not causing too much damage, I tend to avoid these cleaner programs. It's too easy to make a mistake and mess up your system, as you've discovered.

Glary is OK if you don`t abuse it, I stick with CCleaner, just use it to cleanup your browsing files daily and the registry and that`s it.

The only time the registry should need cleaning is when you add or remove programs and windows updates may show up there too.

I run it until there are no issues left, then check it whenever I install or uninstall anything.

And I turn off auto monitoring, I do it manually :)

CCleaner is the one I've had problems with. It keeps turning on functions I turn off, eating up resources or interfering with other programs, and has messed up things for me in the past. The darned thing acts a lot like a virus. I now install it only to use it for torture testing new HDDs. When I'm through testing the new HDDs, I uninstall it.

glary old one i used.its first class one and not know about new update.ccleaner some versions also very good but not good for sometimes for reg repair.and new style of background working is tending to system idle sometimes,i used every cleaners bcse of prob with games and virus or system slow prob.one cleaner that is forgot the name, now they convert to antivirus bcse their cleaner superb (window washer may b i think forgot name)than ccleaner before not famous too same result i am getting from soft cleaner too not famous but 101% result including speeding up and cleaning computer and not hiding anything,so sticking there.not included inner registry cleaning.bcse inner regisrty cleaning is not good for daily use once in six months is good.(and fearing abt the background working software which which things it send to their server or not or our private data except antivirus)

I guess I just had the settings too hot w/ Glary. I found that my Windows Update History kept getting erased as well as Hidden Updates. My favorite repair utility is Windows Repair (AiO) Free/Pro. It saved my bacon a couple of times. [sorry, had to get that in] IANM
