Performing Disk Cleanup is eating up my Hard Drive Space

Hi, I've just recently installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on my laptop.

I've performed all the latest Windows Update until the point where it showed 'Windows is updated'.

However, when i was performing Disk cleanup, i've realised my hard drive space is reducing. The space will keep on reducing for everytime i execute Disk Cleanup.

Any ideas why this is happening?

    Thanks!

Did you reboot after "performing Disk cleanup" ?
Windows needs at least 10% free space to work correctly.

Your specs show "Macbook Pro Retina 13" and "Windows 7 Pro 64-bit ".
I don't have a Macbook and have no experience using a Macbook running Windows.

Post a screen print of Windows Disk Management:

    Hi David,

    Below is my screenshot

As you can see, I'm running Windows 7 on Parallels on my Macbook. I've set a maximum hard drive space of 35gb for my Win7 OS and currently i have around 5gb+ free.

Everytime i ran Disk Cleanup, few hundreds of Mb is reduced from that free space.

Any idea why this is happening?

    Thanks.

An update, upon checking and running a couple more disk cleanups, I found out that 1 time 'Cleanup' will eat up around 190-200mb of space. The same constant value.

    Where did the space go?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Not sure why you're using such a small space for win-7 64 bit
If you're really short of space use Linux :/

You can try a 32 bit win-7 but seeing as win-7 is now pretty long in the tooth since no sp2 was ever released simply use a larger hdd/ ssd 128gb's are pretty darn cheap

But ultimately the issue maybe with Mac and not allowing the process to complete :/

I agree, it could be an issue with the Mac Parallels software.

You could try CCleaner file cleaner and see if that works any better for you.
They have a portable version available, download links available here:
