    sfc \scannow found corrupt files.

Windows Resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
In the CBS folder there is one text file and five .cab files.
I can't open the text file. Says I have to get a "license" ??
So I presume some of my WIM files are corrupt. I'd like to manually replace them.
I've got windows repair discs and an image disc made using AOMEI Backupper.
Anybody able to tell me how to manually replace the corrupt files in System32?
    regards to all.

There are dozens of threads on this topic.

You could try uninstalling update KB3022345, then run sfc again.

    sfc \scannow found corrupt files

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sure there are many links to this and I'll go through them carefully.
Any advice on what my sfc \scannow found? I'd like to read what the CBS text file says.
There are 5 .cab files. I'd like to know which System32 files they refer to.
I'd like to be able to identify exactly which of my system files have become corrupted.
    regards.

Don`t even worry about that yet, the update I showed caused a false sfc reading, it was a year or so that it came out and started it, try uninstalling that update before you go messing with windows.

When did your sfc start telling you you had corrupted files ?

How many times have you run a sfc check ? It could take up to 3 times with restarts in betwen each run to fix the files, but it could also be as simple as removing that update, there supposedly was an update KB3068708 that fixed it, but that was another bad update to install.

    sfc /scannow finds corrupt files.

    :)
Once again thanks for the very quick response.
I uninstalled KB3022345 as you suggested and then ran sfc /scannow
    once again.
I got the message back "Windows Resource Protection did not find any
    integrity violations"
So you sir, were quite right! Thank you very much.
I'll bet there must be times when the solution is not quite so straight forward
so I''ll read up on .cab files and manually extracting system files for replacement.
I've just become aware of DISM.exe so I'll check that out too.
    Much obliged to you.

    Awesome

When that showed up on one of my machines, I was like ugh, can`t have this.

    Glad I could help :)

I just did an install on this Gateway, and I`m not even going to install any optional updates, There are 60 of them, the heck with em, I don`t need em.
