CHKDSK /R does it delete files

I recently ran chkdsk /r command on my windows installation USB. I was wondering if it deletes files?

My question is that: will my windows installation USB have missing files due to me running that command on the USB

(sorry about the last post; I used the wrong forum)

It is not the purpose of chkdsk /r to delete files or damage them in any way and this would not occur under normal conditions. However, if the drive has physical problems then this could happen, although not likely.

So, If i used the chkdsk /r on my Windows Installation USB it wouldn't lead to a corrupt USB right?

I think the answer is "NO". But what do you mean by a "corrupt USB" ??

I have a windows installation usb that has windows 7. I was supposed to run chkdsk /r on my harddrive but instead I ran it on my usb by accident and it checked my usb. The usb is still able to load windows 7 installation. But I'm wondering if chkdsk could have possibly removed some features in the windows installation usb like the system recovery tools and made it corrupt

Nah, chkdsk would not remove anything.

Thank you for the help; just wondering: why are there so many reports of people saying that chkdsk removes files?
