PC stucked at the window 7 flag screen at start up

    Hi

Just have replaced the graphic card because a message "please install or update display driver" occured on the screen

The PC has worked ok for some weeks now, but it each time its turned on, there is a question if it will start or be stucked at the windows flag screen. The PC is unstable that way, but when the start up is ok, the PC works great, no suddenly shutdown f.ex.

The PC got stucked tonight and couldnt pass the flagsymbol screen point. Some few programs was uninstalled after the PC was started in safe mode. Then I tried to start it and it worked. It can be occasional that it worked just now and the start up problem will probably come back.

When the problem occurs, the harddisk doesnt work at all, there isnt any "correct" working noise from the PC, its pretty quite.

Could the power supply be the culprit, or maybe the mothercard?

    Hello Kjell.

I would recommend that you insert your W7 installation disc and boot into it, after that you have booted into it you will first need to select your location and language after that you should see a screen where it asks you if you want to install W7, under all that there should be a button with the text "repair windows", click it and let it run!

And hopefully if it finds issues it will repair them if not you should be displayed with a screen of options such as accessing a command prompt, in there I would recommend that you run these commands:

    sfc /scannow

    and

    chkdsk C: /f /r

    Cheers, Boris :)
