    Random shutdowns Kernel-Power 41 (63); EventLog 6008

    Hello.

Truly hoping the fine folks of this forum can help me solve the mystery of the random shutdowns. I guess I'd be considered an average+ Windows user and have explored this forum in depth but didn't find quite the same issues as others.

Basically, I'm experiencing random shutdowns. Usually happens when watching youtubes/videos. Or, if no video, then on a page in IE that refreshes content after the page is loaded (ex: using the # search feature on Twitter.com). There is no BSOD - the computer just shuts down with no warning.

    So far I have:
    - run CCleaner & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    - deleted Flash completely and have not re-installed
    - run sfc /scannow with no integrity violations
    - explored the possibility of COM Surrogate DLLHost.exe trouble - and therefore run Process Monitor, set the filter to include DLLHost.exe and I stopped running it after 125,000+ events by 1% complete
    - took a look at the Event Viewer and found Critical Kernel-Power event ID 41 Task Category (63) and Error EventLog 6008. These are from today - there have been a total of 10 instances since March and 2 in November 2015.
    - attached the DM Log

The computer is probably 5-6 years old and these problems have been recurring for a couple of months now. And it's maddening, as I'm sure you all know.

Any/all help with diagnosing and treating the problem(s) would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, in advance.

ETA: Uncertain of where to post this, Hope this is the right place.

Did some digging. Installed Win DBG and took a look at the LiveKernel .dmp files. One showed NVlDDMKM.sys as a probable cause. So that led to a clean install of Nvidia drivers.

Fingers crossed that this is/was the trouble.

Worked fine all day. Reinstalled Flash and IE crashes/hangs when playing Flash-required videos.

And prior to that reinstallation, there were still a bunch of instances of COM Surrogate doing it's recurring thing.

It's been a lot of self-diagnosing (blind leading the blind?) - can someone/anyone take a look at the log files and see if there are any other suggestions or things I could be doing?

    Thanks.

ETA: Removed Flash Player again last night.

Another crash this morning. Event viewer shows:

    - Critical Kernel Power Event ID 41; Task Category (63) followed by
    - Information Kernel Power Event ID 89; Task Category (86)
    - Information Kernel Processor-Power Event ID 26; Task Category (4)

ETA: Uploaded new DM Log - this one appears to be more thorough than the previous one.
