Control panel items left click delay

    Hi all,

A while ago I noticed that items in control panel only open after a delay of around 1 second. This delay seems to be built in to Windows 7 as I've tried this on 3 different computers running it and it's the same on all of them. So say for example, I open control panel and click 'system and security', nothing in there will open instantly e.g. Action Centre, Firewall, System etc all have that delay after clicking them. I've lowered the value of MenuShowDelay in the registry but that makes no difference.

It's annoying me a bit now because I've just bought an SSD and everything is very snappy. I'm quite sure it's not hardware limitations causing this delay but rather a setting in Windows 7.

I seem to remember there being a registry tweak to fix this but I cannot for the life of me find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hello and welcome av115 mate par for the course and I don't think you will get to change it I personally use a single click option in Folder Options for the left click it makes no difference as I said to the time it takes for the feature to open but is easier for me for clicking.

I see you use the Menu opening time option so I am wondering if you have used some of the tips from this (my bible for 7) and does speed up things if you don't mind losing some of the "bling" like transparency
