CHKDSK running 2 days with no screen or cursor

About 30 seconds after starting chkdsk my screen went blank with no cursor. Appears the monitor is not getting a signal at all because the power light is blinking. Is there anyway at all to get monitor re-activated without powering cpu off? I have no idea of the progress of CHKDSK. I do know it is running because the drive light is blinking intermittently. For the first four hours it was almost solid, but since then it just blinks as I stated above. I would love to just power off the computer and restart, but from everything I've read that would be the last thing I should do. Any help welcome...

chkdsk doesn't run for 2 days under any working condition so I would power off then wait a minute and power on again.

You are a very patient person for sure. There is no way I would wait that long for anything computer related.

Hello and welcome uncleoat mate Ztruker has said mate that is an eternity for chkdsk.
I would try reseating the GPU and also all the power cables to it and the cables to the monitor. Now the monitor any chance of trying one that you know works?

If you do power off try hitting safe mode and see what happens.
