Renamed imageres.dll, couldn't rename it back. Can't log into computer
SOLVED
I just installed ubuntu on an usb stick then went into system32 from ubuntu and renamed imageresold.dll to imageres.dll and everything works now as before!!
Hello
Today I wanted to change some explorer and windows icons. But i didnt have access to change the imageres.dll file even after taking ownership of it. So i copied it to the desktop and changed some icons but i couldn't replace the new .dll with the old one neither.
So then i made the decision to rename the .dll to imageresold.dll and after that dragging in the new one(i have done that to explorerframe.dll earlier witout problem).
I could rename it but i still couldn't drag in the new one.
After that i couldn't rename it back to imageres.dll but there was an imageres.dll.backup there so i restarted the computer in hope that the backup would be used or something, if that wouldn't work i would just use sfc /scannow to fix all the system files.
But when I reached the login screen after starting the computer there was no user to log into, just the login wallpaper and the bottons in the corners to shut down /restart etc.
I booted up the installation cd to try to repair it from there but my mouse or keyboard doesn't work in the installation screen(i tried usb 3.0, 2.0 and ps/2 ports).
Is there any way i can log into the computer any other way or open cmd without logging in?
Thanks in advance
