Some file types won't preview in explorer preview pane

    Some file types won't preview in explorer preview pane


    I have tried the solutions offered here. PDF, ppt, and image files will preview, but for MS Word or Wordperfect files a message appears in the preview pane that says 'This file can't be previewed.'

    If you double click on doc or docx files, does it open MS Word or open a window to ask witch program to launch?

    It launches the proper program without being asked.

    No passwords. This is the case regardless of where the file is: desktop, document tree, or flash drive.
