    As i said before

RESTORE HEALTH option is NOT available for W7
(the warning message actually means module not present)
SURT is, they are as different as chalk and cheese
you could try and run SURT again, hopefully the sfcfix's will let it complete.
If not run the tool i pointed you to earlier.

    Whats actually wrong now.

Also suggest you run ESET on-line dissable any other AV during scan.

DISM only partially works on W7.

Surt can be run at any time, the missing dll would mean that somethings wrong with it. Most unusual.

Try this alternative, copy/paste the output

Okay then. I ran Superantispyware, Malwarebytes and ASWCleaner, clicked on some tick boxes, then ran some scans. And I think they could have cured some problems, only sadly, not this one question. It was certainly worth a try.

(No, is the answer to your question: I have no hooked up cameras, etc. The only changes tend to be from Windows Update. Otherwise, could it be me enabling boot-time scan in my AV? DISM.exe (SURT version) should work and has executed successfully on my computer in the not too distant past.)

So then I created a restore point and tried SFCfix. SFCfix has discovered more than one error. I am not sure if it managed to produce any error reports as the computer BSODed as I took a Snip of the output cmd window.

All I saw was some messages "unable to produce log file errorno 2"; "Problem with SFC (0) Problem with SURT (109 corruptions)". So it has detected corruptions with SURT, only I don't know yet if it managed to produce a log file of any kind.

    Hi Iko,
Jack's, aka LaybackBear, comment earlier re a repair install is now going to be your best bet.
    NO LOSS of personal data.
    Repair Install

As you have a retail OS, is your disc SP1?
If not copy/paste the results of this tool and i'll see what i can do.
note im expecting it to FAIL in certain areas, because of the scripting errors it might also give me another clue.

    Hello Tourchwood,

To update my previous post, I ran this SFCFix program again. This time it produced a SFCFix.txt output. Are there any instructions how to use program properly? I think i am supposed to drag and drop a script file ontop of the application or so?

I can consider Jack's suggestion of an in-place upgrade install if it does not affect my documents and programs. Otherwise, doing a Restore from a System Image backup is still an option also. Don't know which would be the least troublesome. I'd rather sort out the SFCFix or re-install SURT.

    Hi Iko,

We can try and run SURT, KB947821, again I dont hold out a lot of hope
Thats why i asked you to run the other tool

I suspect the high number of errors found, 109, is why sfcfix is not reporting them.
    It did complete successfully.
You are correct drag/drop is the way it corrects the errors, but first we need to find them to produce the input.

System repair IS the correct title, ----- NOT in-place upgrade install thats TOTALLY different -----.

Yes, I am beginning to like the other tool too :), on the other hand, removing KB947821 before downloading and installing a fresh KB947821 might offer help in planning contingency.

Yes, we need to find them. The log file states line 4: "Not using a script file" - what does that mean? Drag and Drop suggestion was from http://www.techonce.net/threads/2777438-Re-Automating-SFCFix-exe

    Alrighty then, thats different tool!!

    Here are the DXDiag results.

    ...

It doesn' t work as if for the first time .<Manage Attachments>, <Choose file>, <Click Open>, <Select file from folder>, <Click Upload>, msg: Uploading file(s) - Please Wait ... then chosen file disapears, Click on Paperclip and it takes you back to Manage Attachments window; what is going on? I will post again when I work out what has happened to the upload file feature on this forum. Not today.

Hello ICIT2LOL. Yes indeedy, I am here today and the Dxdiag.rtf file is not uploading / showing under paper clip.

This is a bit embarrassing, what could have happened?

    1. Pathetic Network connection? Maybe. However it dos not feel jolty, hesitant, etc.
    2. Is it .rtf format? No I also tried uploading .txt
    3. Am I following instructions carefully enough? Same as in tutorial link.
    4. Is it one of thers SuperAntiSpyware, MalwareBytes blocking me?
    5. Has SuperAntiSpyware/MalwareBytes Quarantined a Windows or Internet component?
    6. Certificate? Certificate looks good (with green padlock).

    DXDiag.txt

Okay, okay. it looks as if it has arrived. Apologies for ad-libbing mid-question, like. I suspect it has uploaded very slowly, and slowly uploaded without displaying any upload bar or hourglass.
