    for me sfc /scannow has stopped in 16%

    Hello Jonathan mate have you tried running it in safe mode? Plus how many times have you tried to run the sfc??

    Now you are doing this for reason and it would be handy to know what that reason or problem is.

    Advanced attributes did not allow me, I used takeownership.reg inside folder WINSXS and it was already fixed.

I've been desktop support for over 10 years in large corporations 10k+ employees. never once did I had a good experience sfc /scannow fixing anything. anybody out there find it help resolved your problem? if so, please list your problem and if sfc /scannow really fixed it. thanks
All the sudden today, I get Windows Explorer has stopped working dialog box, which then causes win 7 to go completely black. Tried a couple restore points but they either failed or didn't fix. I also get this usually now when logging into windows. Was able to get in and run a scannow. See file....

Just left the above running while I took a break, got back and it must have finished. Which event log will I find the result in? Also, I went into command prompt as admin, but it said it didn't recognise the SFC command. I ran it from Run OK though. Is that right?
