    Weird issue with file corruption

Yesterday my PC froze and I had to do a hard reset. The document I was working on at the time (a pageplus publication) was corrupted (just zeroes) after the reset. Other files in the same folder that the publication was saved in also became corrupted, but not all of them. I haven't tried opening all the files, but it appears that all image files (png, svg, psd, jpg) are corrupted but document files (txt, doc, ods, pdf) are fine. In the folder are two sub folders, and in these only png files have become corrupted, jpg files were left intact.

I ran chkdsk /f /r and it said it didn't find any problems with the drive in question.

I don't get how this can happen, seems really strange to me. Anyone have any ideas?

It's actually Win 7 Pro x64. Probably I put business by mistake as it was an upgrade from Vista business x64.

To add to my original post, in the subfolders, it wasn't just png files that were corrupted, but svg files too.
