When you manually run Check for updates, does it find updates or run forever?

I've had no problems with updates for some considerable time.
Last update was the monthly roll-up on the 12th of July; installed no problem.
I've had no cause to manually run updates recently so I tried it just now and it concluded in seconds.

baffled

Can I assume from the silence that it has everyone else baffled too?
If I hadn't run all those security scans I would swear it was malware that got past MB3; but even MB couldn't figure it out either.

Perhaps something is going wrong, because Megahertz asked me the same question again even though I had answered it.

What I would like to see is Services (Non-Microsoft). Just like the picture I posted.

Things I notice.

You have Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro all checked to start at boot. You also have many other things that don't need to start a boot; example (Google update svc.). Things that start at boot will use memory.

Some members have problems using Kaspersky and Malwarebytes active at the same time.

Give this tutorial by Brink.

Even though it indicates those services stopped, are they still loading at start-up? I didn't realise that. Should I disable them all? I thought because they showed as disabled in the other Services list - that I originally posted - and they were not shown as running in the Config list, that they were inactive. I see looking at your screenshot they are all disabled. Why does one services list show one thing and the other show another: that's what I didn't understand.
The Kaspersky service is Password Manager; been very useful for many years now.

I am currently using MemClean and it not only decreases my memory use but it also seems to improve the general performance of Windows and apps. Is this really the case or is it just my impression?

chkdsk high memory usage / memory leak
Has anyone else noticed that chkdsk uses all available physical memory (if you let it run long enough)? I find that if I run chkdsk and watch the memory usage in task manager it jumps by about 50MB every 2 seconds or so until it either finishes or hits around 3.2GB at which point my physical...

Windows 7 random CPU usage and high physical memory usage!!!
Ok, I am literally KILLING myself over this! I installed Windows 7 64Bit over XP around a month ago and it was so good that I recommended it to my brother who was previously on XP too. We got him a copy of the 32bit version as he has only 2gb of memory, and he installed it on his machine....
