Are these services safe to disable please?

    Good evening,

I have just clean installed my Windows 7 OS. Now having done this I want to get the best performance and speed out of my laptop before I create an OS image.
I came across this site outlining which services could be safely disabled along with the reasons why...

    http://www.optimizingpc.com/windows7..._services.html

I have read through them and considered each one and I have come up with what I think I can safely disable without any impact on the functionality of my computer. I have listed each of them with what I am going to do.

If there is any reasons why I shouldn't disable some of them then please point me in the right direction.
The ones in BLUE are the ones I thought of changing.

Thanks for the reply Roy, it is appreciated.

WOW, there is certainly a lot of information to absorb there, a job for the weekend I think.

I used Black Viper when I had Win XP, and I didn't notice any difference in speed.

Don't expect disabling services to provide noticeable performance gains.
While there are indeed many services "running" most of them are simply waiting for something to do and actually consume little resources. Even if you were to disable services on a massive scale to the point where functionality was seriously impaired you would be hard pressed to measure any performance gains. Any perceived gains will be due to the placebo effect.

On the other hand, there are some serious risks with disabling services. There are no publicly available sources that fully document what each service does. Many do more than what available documentation suggests.

Incidentally setting a service start to Manual is not a safe alternative to disabling it. In this state the system or application could start it if needed but don't expect that will actually happen. Unless the default state is Manual this likely won't happen.

In years past I experimented with disabling services and had some unfortunate experiences. I have no desire to repeat them.

I always disable just one, Windows Error Reporting Service, because it's a PITA.
