What kind is your Win 7 license (Home, HP, Pro or Ultimate)?

I think if you use a different installation DVD from the one which was used to install the OS (Windows sees it that way), it won't allow you to perform some tasks, correct me if I'm wrong.

A win 7 disk has all brands of win 7 (Home, HP, Pro and Ultimate), and you can use the disk to install any of them. All you have to do is to delete the \sources\ei.cfg file and it will ask what brand you want to install.
It will only activate with the appropriate key.
The installation wizard and the repair Wizard is the same for all brands.

What you can't do is to try to repair a Win 7 64 with a Win 7 32 installation disk (and vice versa)

I remember long time ago when I tried to repair the Windows 7 machine from a downloaded iso image I didn't know the ei.cfg trick so I hope next time I need to do a repair Windows will not bother me with these marketing scams.
    Thanks for help.
