Services: "Desktop Window Manager Session Manage" is disabled ?
In Services (local) "Desktop Window Manager Session Manage" (UxSms) is Disabled
Run: services.msc
The service description is ..."Provides Desktop Window Manager startup and maintenance services"
Startup and maintenance services ... are of interest to me.
When my PC hibernates (by ME or the system settings) when resuming-windows some of my programs are inactive.
- all affected programs are in the SysTray
- I run each program's executable ... and each program is back to normal
Hibernation occurs automatically when the laptop goes to sleep for a long period (I suspect hours)
- I do opt for hibernation (manually) occasionally when I have a lot of windows open in the middle of research, and it is too complex to try and shut down (mostly very late in the day, like 1am)
My workaround is a Restart menu (on Start menu) with individual links to each executable (.EXE file)
Q: should UxSms be set as Automatic or manual ?
- general outline by blogs is that "Automatic" is default
- mine is "disabled" and I don't know how this came about ?
Just wondering if UxSms and dying executables are related on resuming windows ?
