Black Vipers config was a godsend in the earlier days. However, (IMO) I don't think the page has really kept up to date with Windows 7. Vista, as we are all too well aware, grabbed everything it could on startup and was heavy on resources. To remove unwanted services did, undoubtably, improve the OS.
Not so Windows 7. Yes, it will have a quick look, and load, possible services/.dlls, for use, but they do not significantly slow dlown the start procedure and, better than Vista, do not use any resopurces until required.
If you take a look at Black Viper's forums, you will see it is under utilised as far as Windows 7 posts are concerned, but flooded, still, with Vista comments. You will gleen more help from this, (sevenforums) site.
But, in my own case, I do not have a great deal of use for the Windows 7 Search service, and this is turned off.(A big time consumer, and without it the OS defaults to the old search anyway.) Ditto both Home group services, Google software updates, (you can do this manually, from time to time), Parental Controls. (I use other security when my grandchildren visit!), security centre, Tablet service, (no use for it), Windows backup(use Acronis manually), Windows Defender (I am using MSE, which automatically disables this service). Do you need the error reporting service? Windows Firewall (I use my own third party). I see you have Macrum reflect running. Is this on a scheduled backup? Maybe you could put that on Manual.
This, I have done because I just like a tidy computer. The difference in startup time maybe a few seconds, I have never tested it.
The biggest delay I have found, occurs between the Welcome screen and the desktop. I traced this through and found something quite intesting. If you stay with the uncustomised "Windows Logo" desktop, the delay is max 7 seconds. If you customise the screen in any way whatsoever, it will immediately increase it to more than 20 seconds, and in extreme cases to as much as 50 seconds. I have read on other sites that this only occurs with a combination of aero and solid colours - my normal choice, but it also seems to happen with pictures in my case. I am still experimenting with this but cannot find a way around it, as I hate that pastel coloured logo screen. I have logged it as a bug, with the usual lack of response, but maybe MS are having a look?
