    best fix windows 7 maintenance for disappearing desktop shortcuts

    so right now i'm on win10 home and under

    C:\Windows\diagnostics\scheduled\Maintenance

    there is no TS_BrokenShortcuts.ps1 file to look at.

    but at work i am on win 7 professional and I am running into a problem where I believe a default system maintenance task that went unnoticed since system creation, deletes specific desktop shortcuts.
    For me I am accessing some linux systems via samba-server so I create up to 6 desktop shortcuts like

    \\192.168.1.22 -> desktop shortcut named server1

    and I do that for greater than 4 shortcuts which from what I read on the web currently if the windows maintenance task sees more than 4 it deletes them.

    Now under any normal point in time, these shortcuts on my desktop to me "are not broken" because never when i double click does it not connect me to the linux server share. But it there some other definition of "broken" that is being applied, something like maybe because the samba password protection scheme is security=user in the GLOBAL section of the smb.conf file on the linux servers... so the shortcut is broken until it is dbl-clicked and an authentication happens with the linux server ?

    And was this great idea of deleting more than.... four... shortcuts removed in windows 10? Because I do not see a TS_BrokenShortcuts.ps1 file on my windows 10 home computer?

    And what's the best fix for this disappearing shortcut problem? I don't necessarily want to turn off all of the windows 7 maintenance tasks... whatever those may be I suppose that should be checked
    I basically don't want any shortcut created anywhere to ever be deleted.

    What W7 brand you have (HP, pro or ultimate)?
    It's a normal computer or it has been configured by IT?
    It can have a script to delete all desktop shortcuts and load the default.
