CPU-RAM Meter gadget appears as text boxes instead of graphical gauges

As the attached picture shows, the CPU-RAM Meter gadget of Windows 7 64-bit appears as two text boxes instead of graphical gauges.
Why is that? How cab this problem be solved?

    Hi DrGhobar,

I don't know if you have tried this might it might be worth a go as a start point!

Goto Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del), click the Processes tab, find and right click sidebar.exe, click End Process and click OK. Click File, New Task (Run...), type sidebar.exe in the box and click OK.

    I hope this helps!

    Thank you for your attendance.
I did what you said, but it did not solve the problem.

    Hello Paul Black
I solved this problem this way:
from Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Display, I changed the size of text and other items on the screen to "Smaller - 100% (default)".
