AdwCleaner Adware cleaner- from Malwarebytes follows in the software list.

Malwarebytes had made JRT Junk Removal Tool which I use when I need a quick Restore Point.
It is still available for free. AdwCleaner may be an updated version.

For now I'm just making notes and collecting all these software pieces.

Just a trial run of the Malwrebytes Adware Cleaner program. I executed it 'as is' outside of the suite of programs since it runs quickly. I went to a problem site where the agressive fake warning starts but it didn't go off. Like Malwarebytes Junk Removal Tool, The Adware Cleaner should have a place on my desktop if performance holds up.

Just a followup on some errors I found using the Bleeping Computer suite. I'm asking in a different thread subject why these programs say to have written a restore point but none is in the queue after the action.

For this reason I am suspending use of the Bleeping Computer suite's programs where the

problems occurred until I have an answer to the failed restore points.

After some experimentation I found that Junk Removal Tool gave me a logged restore point where nothing else would. That is a usable alternative. Perhaps my settings or user info is blocking Zemana and Hitman Pro tools from creating the restore points they claim. It's just unknown for now.

Sophos Anti Rootkit seems to run ok. I believe that was part of the Bleeping series of tools-- runs like Kaspersky.

Anti-Rootkit Scanner | Free Rootkit Detection and Removal Tool | Sophos Virus Protection

Maybe someone here knows how to run CCleaner the safe way. I'd try that if a safe way is known.

Also whenever I run and edit entries from HiJack This, the useless ones pop right back. Most are under the code 23 for Services. Is there a fix to clean up the start menu?

I did not abandon this topic. I just had to sort things out. The rrestore point headache is still unsolved as far as I can recall.

Download and install CCleaner Download CCleaner
Open options - Settings - un mark everything
Open options - Monitoring- un mark everything

Open Cleaner - Analyze - Run Cleaner

Open Registry - Scan for issues.
It will search and show a lot of issues.
I normally make a analysis of the results.
Then run Fix Selected Issues and, when asked, ALWAYS make a backup of the registry.

It's the selection of issues that concerns me. As stated about the Windows cleaner it can take things out
it simply doesn't recognize. In things like Revo Uninstaller you can look at the install programs and know there are stangers present. In Hijack this, I think the problem is certain services being activated since
these file not found entries come back constantly.
