Do you need Java? If not uninstall it.

I'd turn off Ccleaner's task menu option. It's starting with Windows. As well as spybot search and destroy.

In addition to Ccleaner, check out System Ninja. It will delete far more temp files. System Ninja - SingularLabs
Have Uninstalled ZA & AVG, slight improvement in loading time, 2-3 minutes.

Uninstalled Java

Couldn't find the "CCleaner's task menu option" to turn off. Followed CC's instructions but when it came to
locating it, it said to go to Options>Monitoring. I don't have Monitoring in my Options drop-down menu.

Okay, go into Autoruns and under the Logon tab and deselect Ccleaner, and try to deselect Chrome as well. Reboot the computer and see if your start up time improves.

Instead of Adobe, check out Foxit. If you like it uninstall Adobe. I find Adobe to be bloat.

Got the time down to 2 minutes 45 seconds. I'm probably going this route- WD Blue 3D NAND 250GB PC SSD - SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5"/7mm Solid State Drive - WDS250G2B0A - Newegg.com
Still haven't pulled the trigger yet, if there's any other suggestions, I'm ALL ears... Best price I found is $67.98 with FREE Shipping

That is a good choice. As I wrote you on post #46 you don't need a 256G. 128G is more than you ever use as you have a HDD for data. Use Kari tutorial to move C:\users to D:\users so all temporary files will be on the HDD.

If you want I can guide you on how to move C:\users to D:\users

Mega- you are probably right. My son-in-law (helped me build computer) put in a 120GB SSD about a year ago and he wished he'd gone bigger. Price- umm? If this one goes down, I can use it in the next one.

My biggest worry is the OS, how do I get that to the SSD and leave my other stuff on the HDD...

I bought my fist SSD 5 years ago. For a 120G I paid US$120 (US$1 / G). Now it cost US$30. So, don't spent money on something that will be much cheaper on the following years and that you won't use.
Once you have the SSD on your hands I will give you all the information and the files you'll need. Just send me a private message and I'll give you the instructions
