    CBS and CHECKSUR logs

I ran the sfc /scannow several times and still get the message in Command Prompt that some of the corrupted files could not be fixed. Installed and ran the System Update Readiness tool. Here are the CBS ad CHECKSUR logs. If anyone can help, thanks....

The CBS log is larger then 2.00mb upload limit here :/

    Hi bamage,

Larger limit for compressed/zip folders. Don't need CBS folder or logs!

    Those are Avast registry errors!

Please download Uninstall Utility for Avast Antivirus and carefully follow instructions on the page.

You can enable Windows Defender for now if you're concerned about no Anti-Virus

    When finished with Avast Uninstall

Please download FRSTx64 place on your desktop & run
    in FRST search type
    avast
    then click Search registry
when tool finishes please post SearchReg.txt that will be placed on your desktop.

When we're done you can reinstall Avast and disable Win Defender!

Thanks for the reply. Here is the Searchreg.txt. Does the CBS log not show the corrupted files that the sfc scannow could not fix? I ran the chkdsk on startup as well and the CBS log is now 11 mb... so i can't attach it here.

sfc /scannow is a system file checker, which scans for and tries to either repair or replace damaged or missing system files, it has nothing to do with Avast Anti-virus. The errors you see in the CheckSUR.log are registry errors.

Compressed/Zipped files have a larger upload limit. If you zip a folder it will be compressed into smaller footprint. Don't need entire CBS folder!

Did you follow the Avast Uninstall procedure exactly?

    Here's your registry fix.
Please download Fixlist.zip and extract it to your desktop.
FRST should be on your desktop.
    Start FRST, click FIX.
when it completes, run SURT tool again
Please post FRST log and CheckSUR.log
You can place both of them in a Zip/Compressed file and upload them.
I will be gone offline several hours making an emergency computer/server repair call.

I uninstalled and re-installed AVAST exactly as per your instructions, When i extracted the Fixlist zip file on my desktop it automtically ran and created a Fixlist.txt file. Here are the CheckSUR and Fixlist files after running the System Update Readiness tool again.

    Have FRST on desktop
Download Fixlist.zip and extract/unzip to desktop
    Double-click FRST to open it
    Click FIX button on FRST.
When it completes Fixlog.txt will be added to your desktop. Please post log.
