Well thats sounds a lot like my problem. When i reinstalled windows i used custom instalation, i did not format my HD. I dont have any viruses or trojans, checked with kaspersky, ad-aware and auslogics boost speed.

The problem is that sometimes CPU meter shows normal consumption. But the games and overall windows performance for example are much slower than they used to be.
If you want to try restore original windows dll's try running SFC /scannow from the run command :)

Well im happy to report that my windows is working like a charm once again. I did as sclausnitzer suggested, formated my HD and reinstalled. Ill give kaspersky a shot because i dont think that it caused the problem.

Thanks for the help all of you!

I guess i spoke too soon. I ran experience index score and it was 2.7 (processor and ram) while before this problem started my index was 4.5!! Any suggestions? What is happening to my system?

    Alfarin:

This sounds like a hardware or driver problem. Here are some quick ideas off the top of my head......

If the experience index was at 4.5 when you first got the unit, and in a very short time it has dropped to 2.7, then perhaps your computer requires special drivers that are not installed by default when you re-image your laptop, but I doubt it.

It could also be a setting in the bios. Perhaps a power-saving setting that throttles the CPU or the bus speed (which affects both CPU and RAM). You do have the laptop plugged in don't you?

Did you upgrade the RAM? if you used slower RAM, the laptop will slow down to prevent errors.

Finally, take it to your retailer and have them test it. It could be an actual hardware failure. If so, hopefully they will swap it out.
