Turn Off Nag Screens CCleaner and Avast (and Gratis Running Videos)

I know, since I'm a user of the free versions of CCleaner and Avast I'm a freeloader. I shouldn't complain about pop-ups that block the view of something I really want to see on my screen.

When I searched Google for solutions I saw many posts for Windows 10. Is there a simple Windows 7 solutions (Win7/Pro x64)?

In the same vein, is there a general tool to prevent a website from launching a video, conveniently running as it opens, because they 'know' that I will want to see it?

    Thanks,
    baumgrenze

Guess your still using Google to search. This was the first entry of a Duck Duck Go search related to Avast.

Disable Avast messages, popups, and alerts

Don't get any cCleaner alerts but I'm still using 5.32 version before Avast took over.

    EDIT:
Sorry, reread your post and it says you used Google. I haven't used Google in years.

The advertising you see on the majority of sites and free programs, is what pays for the site/program, so will usually be an integral part of the site, and thus difficult to hide without collateral damage to the content. Not everyone uses advertising to an annoying extent like the Avast products, so maybe there is an alternative free option that is more to your taste, best way is to find an alternative, even a paid alternative, and give Avast, or other developer, feedback clearly stating that the reason for not using their product was their unacceptable advertising policy

This site is funded from advertising, but we choose to not serve ads to our members, maybe it's something than will catch on

    Hi Nigel,
On Turn Off Nag Screens CCleaner and Avast (and Gratis Running Videos)
I have posted an answer #4 explaining how configure settings on CCleaner so it doesn't load on statup.

It has been deleted, I suppose, by you.

Is there an explanation why it has been deleted?
The post contained reference to pop-up blockers and script blockers which is in breech of Forum rules, the ccleaner bit of the post was collateral damage and could be reposted if you wish

    CCleaner.
Open CCleaner - Options - Settings and un mark Run when computer starts.
Open CCleaner - Options - Monitoring and un mark all monitoring
