progress bar take very long time when opening jpeg or any folder [only] in my usb hard disc. and i no longer see thumbnails or preview of pics in separate window.
all the same programs as before, just happened suddenly .
a pic about 5 mins to open and pc take 20 min to shut down

Is it a big jpg or is your disk slow have you tried with different software.

thanks 10 mb jpegs ,everything is as it was before. when it was ok. defrag done today,

none. tryed hd on another pc too. think it needs a new pcb/bios chip swapping over
