"Show Window Contents while Dragging" somehow got turned off ???

This happened to me once before, a few years ago; and, it just happened again; the "Show Window Contents while Dragging" option somehow turned itself off.

It had been so long since the last episode that I had forgotten just what I did to fix it; so, I searched and found this :

Show Window Contents or Outline While Dragging

It is sort of scary that this feature can be mysteriously switched off; it makes me wonder what else might just get changed.

Has anyone else had this to happen ?

    Press Windows Key + R.
In the Run window, type systempropertiesadvanced, and click OK.
    In Performance section, click Settings.
In the box, check Show window contents while dragging, and click OK.

Thank you; that is another way to skin the cat; I will bookmark it for the next time things go haywire.

I think I may have found a person of interest in this case.

Just prior to discovering the problem on one machine, I had used EaseUS Partition Master to allocate a new WD HDD that plain old Windows Disk Management refused to acknowledge.

Immediately after using EaseUS Partition Master on another machine, it too started having the drag window outlines instead of the entire window problem.

On the first machine, "show contents while dragging" had mysteriously gotten unchecked.
On the second machine, the option was still checked; to fix the problem, I unchecked > Apply > rechecked > Apply and the problem went away.

Most of us here use free software MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 9.1 (new versions aren't so good)
Download MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 9.1 - FileHippo.com

Thanks for the info about the older vs newer versions.
I already had version 10.0.0 in my "Not Yet Installed" folder; thanks to your link, I just have downloaded version 9.1 and made myself a note to use it instead of later versions.

Well...., EaseUS Partition Master has just moved up from Person of Interest to Prime Suspect in this case.
I just finished using it to do a bit of partition work on yet another machine; and, as soon as the machine booted back up, I started to drag a window and the outline moved first, with the contents jumping into place after.

I won't penalize EaseUS Partition Master for this one minor quirk, as it has saved me from distress and made my life easier many times over; I highly recommend it for what it does as it does it well.

    THANK YOU AGAIN !
I recently had reason to use EaseUS Partition Master and once again it changed this setting.
I have no idea why it does this, it just does.
