    Welcome to the forum.

Open device manager. See if there is any yellow alerts of missing drivers.
    Is your win 7 SP1?

WUDFHost.exe is related to framework. Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Host Process
My suggestion is to install framework 4.7.2

    Thank you !

    Yes - I have win SP1

Device manager shows yellow alerts next to portable devices. Four items each labeled WPD FileSystem Volume Driver.
attempting to update those drivers with an automatic search fails.

I have installed framework 4.7.2 but i am still getting five separate errors regarding WUDFHost.exe in windows application log upon bootup

I dont know if this is related (probably not) - i am also getting a consistent error in Windows log system
event id 7000 source service control manager The shoujizhushou service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

thanks for your continued help !!!!!

    Lets do the basic:
    - Schedule a disk check. Open a CMD window as admin and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say that the disk is in use and if you want to schedule to next start = Yes. Reboot
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters or bad sectors.

    - do a system file check. Open a CMD window as admin and type:
    sfc /scannow

    Chkdsk cleaned up some errors.

Here is the CBS.log file /scannow reported errors it could not fix.
which is weird because I had already run it several days ago - go figure.

    Thank you !

D: is an optical DVD drive.

i reran sfc /scannow and uploaded the log again just to be sure as I was trying to install a program on the drive and there may have been a dvd in it.

the dvd drive is now clear for sure.

Wow. Amazing. It SEEMS to be fixed. If it is easy to explain how you figured that out, that would be wonderful. If not i will soon mark this resolved. Will wait a few days and watch the event viewer before i am certain.
