sfc check errors (after IE8 reinstated)

    Hi,

What would be the best way to fix these (cbs.log cannot repair) errors re "iecompat.dll"?

Info CSI 0000038e [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"iecompat.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-IE-IECompat, Version = 8.0.7601.17667, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

Info CSI 00000391 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:24{12}]"iecompat.dll" of Microsoft-Windows-IE-IECompat, Version = 8.0.7601.17667, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch

Already tried with sfc obviously, could try with w7u64 dvd, bu is there a better way, e.g. a file from a VM w/ same sys, or so?

    Any help much appreciated :)
    Thank you!

You have Iecompat.dll Version = 8.0.7601.17667, 15 Aug 2011 on the computer. You may want to uninstall/(Re-)install KB2598845. And see if the Update cures the problem.

Thank you so much, removing it resolved the sfc error.
Reinstall brings it back, and even with tweaking IE fix after reinstall the sfc error comes back as before.
Do you have any idea how to fix it with reinstall? Perhaps delete the sxs references (backup before)? Or some other special adjustments?

So I will leave it uninstalled for the time being, and am happy it works fine.
Thank you for your kind help!

    Thanks for the tip.

Installed SURT, and the sfc error is still there.

However, there seems to be some output of SURT in the same folder where the sfc cbs.log appears:
    Code:
    Summary:
    Seconds executed: 136
     Found 106 errors
     Fixed 90 errors
CSI Unexpected Failure Total count: 8
CSI F Mark Bad Type Total count: 90
Fixed: CSI F Mark Bad Type. Total count: 90
CSI Missing Winning Component Key Total count: 8
What would be the best way to fix the remaining 16 errors?

    Many thanks!
