Temporarily Shut Down All Protection
I got a need to temporarily shut down all my system protection so that I can properly install and update several software programs that are not getting the proper rights to install parts into the window's system folders.
I know I can turn off the prompting for administrator rights but that's not cutting it, an OCX file is not being installed and registered in windows\system32 for the program to use for example. And another blocker is that one of the programs does not have permission to access ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu ![]() |

I sometimes get that error about the Start Menu too , messing up an installation. I'm not sure what you did. Is Active Directory Repair a program? Did you run Win in Safe Mode and then run that?
