    Hi All,
    Greets,

    @RoWin7 :

    1.
    I'm using AVG and it's a PITA
    What do you mean ? You are satisfied with AVG ?

    2. I feel every pc with 4GB+ Ram should at least use Kaspersky Free Antivirus. Though Kaspersky is heavier than AVG, it is worth trying. Once Kaspersky installed, you have to just take care of Kaspersky prompts & its all! It manages things well for itself. It runs rootkit scan from time to time, etc.

    3. There are some features that can be safely configured to save resources with Kaspersky.
    (i) Advanced Disinfection Technology to be disabled. ( Very Important )
    (ii) No adds ( In Kaspersky Paid AV )
    (iii) No smooth transition between windows.
    (iv) No Automatic updation to newer versions.

    4. While you have installed AVG or Kaspersky, Make sure that Windows Defender is disabled.

    5. If you are using AVG, I assume you are aware of : Disable / Avoid AVG Zen

    6. Multiple recommendations from seniors to use MBAM & SUPERAntiSpyware regularly along with AVG Free, MSE or Windows Defender. For eg. Malware

    Thanks & Regards. ...

    PITA means "pain in the a--."

    I'll post my questions as a separate thread, to your attention, rather than threadjacking.
