sfcfix found 28 corrupt files

    I was wondering the same but there must be problems that the sfc doesn't log because a) I ran it countless times and on occasions (depending in which mode I ran it or after which other actions I did - like deleting Internet Explorer directories and the like) it would tell me that it kept 'finding corrupt files and supposedly fixing them' and on other occasions it would tell me there were some files it found, it couldn't fix but yet the log would not specify them. b) my Internet Explorer isn't working and I believe I did everything else to try and make it work other than fixing my OS.

    Hi Nickk,

    [1] Did you disconnect ALL external HDD's, including USB's?
    [2] Did you delete ALL partitions leaving a single un-allocated partition?
    [3] Is the Bit-type correct?
    [4] Did you make sure you didn't connect to the Internet during the install? The WU's can be done afterwards!

I have only one partition, C:, on which everything resides. (Actually, I now noticed another mysterious drive called System reserved (G:) of 1 Gig big. I think it emerged yesterday after I've tried installing windows 10 and burning it on a cd to make it bootable.) This is what I meant to ask before:

    When I hit the icon, the mouse arrow buffers for a moment and no response otherwise. I uninstalled and deleted the IE folders, re-installed manually and via windows updates, I turned windows features on and off, took all the updates that were available and executed fix software like the Windows6.1-KB947821-v34-x64.

    Had you re-started the computer in between turning Windows feature on and off? The computer needs to be re-started in order for changes to take effect.

    Most config changes updates, features, etc. require reboot. If not sure, reboot!

I ran sfc/scannow through cmd and found corrupt files. Any help would be appreciated and since I'm not good at at these sorts of things, please be patient with me and I'll try my best to follow your guidance :) , thank you. Should I upload the whole cbs log or just the corrputed parts?

My avast internet security stopped working with htmllayout.dll error. So i ran sfc /scannow and found corrupt files and windows cannot repair it. Anyone plz help!
I get a windows boot error 0xc000000e if I try to boot into safe mode or launch startup repair through through windows boot manager. I tried using a windows 7 recovery usb but startup repair says it cannot repair the problem automatically. Through the command line I ran chkdsk /f and /r multiple...
