sfc 10x slower

Hi,

Strangely, while a month ago sfc ran still through in under two minutes and came out clean, now it takes about twenty minutes for the same result.

Already uninstalled the few additional programs added since then, but same result. Cannot find a reason for it, even switched off indexing for all drives, but cannot find any changes otherwise.

Other than sfc, the system seems to be as fast as before, judging how programs load or ops get completed.

How could one find out why sfc runs so slowly?

next step run chkdsk from an admin command prompt

Thank you, did that for all drives that could not be tested on 5 levels from within windows, and now, after also the four monthly updates, the command "sfc /scannow" is fast again.
