    Microsoft Auto update

    Hey Friends,
I'm not sure where to post this. Anyways is there a way where we can disable automatic update for just one Microsoft product for example for SQL Server alone it really messing with my custom instance. If i could disable just for SQL that would be great

    Thanks in Advnace

Go into the list of updates that are ready to install. Right click it and hide it. It will not be offered again unless there is a version upgrade.

Yup .. But the problem is that they release Security updates often that will stop the SQL Server service becuase it will fail to update.

Then instance i have created is not in Windows Authentication mode it requries a SA password to update. If there is a way to disable all the future update then it would be great

    Hello Shyam,

The only way that I know of to stop this for good is to set your Windows Update settings to Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them instead.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
