    Deleting registry records?

I was looking in my registry to see if some records existed and I stumbled across HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Distiller\PrinterJobControl which seems to have more than one thousand entries – basically all the jobs I have ever printed as PDF files. Question: Can these records be safely deleted?

Any change in that part of the registry should, at most, cause changes in that particular program and for your particular user (while "your user" means the user account running regedit).

I don't know the exact effect, but my guess would be that what you've found is just an history of printed files, deleting them should lose those and pretty much nothing else. To be sure you can take a backup of the affected entries before deletion (just export them to a .reg file you can reimport afterwards in case of problems).

An important question to ask is, besides an history, why do you want to delete them? Are you having some particular problem?

Good suggestion. I backed up the records, deleted them, and no issue. p.s. I made a mistake - not 1,000 records by 6,000+ records!
