    Minimalist

With it being out in BETA now and lotsa people testing i was just wondering who here has experimented at installs of 7 on minimum....or less than required specs.

This may make for some interesting results.
Have at it and post your results.

I can see the attraction of doing this but I like having the features available to me. Perhaps whoever does do it could post speed results, number of processes running and a screenshot of desktop?

Well i pulled a P4 with onboard video (probably the deal breaker there ) and i am adding a stick of RAM to it to bring it up to 768Mg...
I'll be wiping a WD 80G HDD for the test and i'll post the results here.
May take a day or so.

    Dell inspiron 8000 Laptop

It scores a 1 because of on board video 32 mg, noway to improve that has 512 memory also maxed out, 30 gig hard drive, no areo but it is as fast as xp was. Only problem was network on board wired no drivers, g wireless card installed fine and connects to the internet and rest of network. It is as you say minimalist but would probably run just fine on a faster netbook.

office 2003 installed runs with no real problems

Installed it on 4GB SSD in my orginal Eee Netbook 701. Had to vlite the iso and got it enough to where it installs in 1.9Gigs.

A ghost image is available here for those who don't wanna mess with vLite.

Anyone tried WAIK? I know its mostly intended as the windows install environment but I wonder if it could be used everyday.
