Windows 7: Low CPU WEI

16 Dec 2009   #1

Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I just upgraded my notebook to 64 bit Windows 7 professional and am getting a much lower score for my CPU than I was in Vista. I have a Core2Duo P8600 @ 2.4Ghz, 3GB of RAM and a Geforce 9600M GS (256MB RAM). Under Vista I was getting 5.5 for my CPU score, but now I'm getting a 4.6 score for the CPU. After a little searching it seems this is a rather low score, as I've seen posts of scores in the high fives and up to 6.0 for the same processor in Win 7. Does anybody know why there is such a difference in Vista and Win 7 scores on my machine? I'm curious as to why others are getting higher scores with the same processor. I have all of the updates installed and everything is running great, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Thanks for any available input!
