    Password Expires

I was away from home for 2 weeks and when I got home, of course, I went right to the computer. I used my user account (not administrative), but both my administrative accounts required that I reset the password. It was very simple, but I was curious. I did not read anywhere that a administrator user account's password expired after a certain amount of time.

    All accounts set up 10/28
Used my regular account 2.5 weeks ago
Used my adminstrator account about a 1.5 months ago.

Click , type lusrmgr.msc to search field and hit Enter. This opens Local Users and Groups administration panel. Click Users, double click your username. Make sure Password never expires is checked.

Your specs say you (and I) are using 7 Home Premium. Normally one would change the password stuff with the "Group Policy". Is not included with Home Premium.

From an elevated command prompt type:

    net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited

    Then ENTER to execute.

You can also just change the legnth of time until the password expires (1-999).

    Cheers!

It will just take me a second to locate the fix!

Good point. My bad, did not check which version Rich is using. It is included only in Pro, Ultimate and Enterprise.

Well, since the Beta and RC were the Ultimate version, we have only had since late October to find the little differences between Home Premium and Pro/Ultimate. Now I wish I had ordered at least one copy of Pro, because of these differences. So it is good to sort this stuff out!

    Cheers!
