Can't stay asleep.

Just checked for sure, not a surge problem. It must be something else, this sucks! >.<

The work around is to just unplug it and put it to sleep and plug in after, but I want it back like normal. >.<

What usb devices do you have connected, you may have to unplug them one at a time to see if you can find the culptit

This worked for me as well. I have an HP dv3-2155mx that came with Vista HP 64bit. I recently upgraded it to Windows 7 Ult 64bit. It worked fine but some issues with the display brightness caused me to reinstall the intel chipset drivers as well as install some HP applications for the quick launch buttons.. it was after all that when I noticed the machine did not stay asleep while on AC power. It would go to sleep then immediately wake up.

I tracked it down (using the instructions above) to a USB root device. the only thing I have plugged in to USB is my Logitech V450 wireless mouse receiver. First I unplugged the receiver and voila! it stayed asleep so I unchecked the box in device manger to "allow this device to wake the computer" and it seems to working fine.

i had the same issue, it worked before, but after bios update for my dv4-1190 it woke up 1 second after going to sleep.

i went to bios, no power management options there.
disable wake on lan in the network driver,
disabled all the networks all together - nothing.

then i saw this thread and i have a wireless Logitech mouse, went to its driver properties and unchecked "allow this device to wake up computer".

worked like a charm. great forum.

No satisfactory answers here; I have EXACTLY the same problem. Won't stay asleep for more than one second on AC power, sleeps fine unplugged. Just upgraded to Windows 7 yesterday. This is disappointing. Have gone through the entirety of Brink's tutorial on sleep problems to no avail. .
