Event Viewer slower in W7 as compared to XP?

Do you find viewing Event Viewer is so much slower in W7 (both 7100RC x64 and 7600 RTM x64) than as compared to XP SP3?

I know in W7, Event Viewer provides more info...but it's so much slower and it always pauses/lags before showing all the events. Is it possible to speed things up, I don't really want to see all the info/messages or security things which I can not control (such Audit etc), I'm only interested in Critical Errors/Erros....

    Thanks.

Are you really in that big of a hurry that 2 or 3 seconds is going to matter??

You can actually limit the size of the evntvwr log files but Im not sure I would want to just to speed it up a bit. Do you have a lot of information alerts, and errors?

hmmmm cause everything is so fast in W7 as compared to XP, so one would expect "Everything" to be fast, including Event Viewer!

Thanks Ken, NO, just a bunch of Information/Security Audits and one critical Error that would NOT go away/wouldn't let me delete...it's about an old HP 6L printer that W7 couldn't share with one of my PC running XP SP3...by the way how do you Delete Error/Events in "Administration Events"

Some times our expectations can never match the reality that is life..

Less comprehensive data is easier to compile and display. More comprehensive data requires more time. You can get a fast answer from a Magic 8-Ball but that doesn't make the answer useful.

Event Viewer is not a tool where speed is more essential than a comprehensive result.
