I merged both the Search.reg and Add Search option.reg in windows build 7068 but the item did not show up in my context menu. Also tried shift right click but still not there.

Can you be a bit more specific about which regfiles you're talking about?

I am refering to the two files contained in the following download (first item in this tread). The two files were Search.reg and Add Search option.reg.

I have attached a zip file with all of my registry tweaks for the context menu in windows 7, and also have included a few other tweaks to improve performance.

Please add rep if you enjoy these. Thanks.

I meant as to what they were supposed to do as I didn't download the file....

But I just did, and you're right - there is something wrong with those two files.

I opened them in a neat little app I found called RegPad, which allows for easy, native editing of even those Binary keys - and look at the fact that those two have at least one invalid entry each....

Hey john that looks like a good app but all the download links for are dead for some reason, any chance of uploading a zip of it, much appreciated.

I originally heard of it at NeoWin, but you're right - last time I went looking I could not find it online. Thankfully I already had the .ZIP version, *and* I have made a .reg file that allows you to make it the default viewer for all .reg files on your machine - and makes the default action when clicking on those files open RegPad instead of installing them, making your machine just a little bit safer....

I posted a reply to the original post about the app to see if anyone knows how to contact the dev or if I can post it here - if I don't hear back or don't get a "No" I will.
