    sfc \scannow

When I try to do a sfc \scannow it will only flash for less than a second and go away. There is nothing in the log.

    Hi Jscolt, Welcome to SF,

To see those the best way is to run from command prompt

Start > cmd > Right Click > Run as administrator
    There type in SFC/ SCANNOW
After the scan it should show the Log

    Hopr this helps

Or type cmd, press ctrl+shift+enter and then accept UAC's prompt.
