A little newer score, with higher OC on the CPU and RAM.

DDR2 @ 1153MHz 5-5-5-15
CPU @ 3840MHz

After fixing some glitch in my mem config, I can now get ddr3-1824 @ 9-9-9-24 to run stable, with noticeably faster speed than the ddr3-1616 configuration ...

Your memory bandwidth is good and on par for triple-channel DDR3 memory. However, you're running two triple-channels of different sized memory (a 3x2GB kit and a 3x1GB kit, which is the only way to get 9GB on your PC).

Running this sort of arrangement is slowing down your cycles and hence your memory latency. I'd remove the 3x1GB (3GB) kit and just run the 3x2GB (6GB) kit. Chances are, you're not even using the full 6GB unless. 1.) you're editing video, or 2.) you're gaming with a DX10 compatible game and a horrible video card that has a small amount of video memory. But since you're running a 4850, I don't think number 2 applies at all.

My mem assesment can fluctuate between 24K+ and 25K+ randomly. A 1.5GHz variation in bandwidth seems fairly large to me, but maybe not. Nothing else but the minor background stuff going on. Any idea what causes this?

CPU Speed, BCLK and Memory Speed: Boot failure.
Probably I am in the right section for this issue. If not, please move it. A couple of days ago I changed the motherboard and processor, but not the RAM as the RAM is apparently compatible with that board as stated in GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1150 - GA-B85M-D3H (rev. 1.0/1.1) ... Now, I...

What's your hard drive assessment speed?
I'm curious to see what other people are getting for their WEI disk scores. I would like to see all types and combinations of drives to see how they differ in performance. If possible try to keep HDTach/HDTune/etc. scores to a minimum as there is another thread for that. Some general questions...

Memory Assessment Speed
Just a curious question; I ran winsat mem a couple of weeks ago and got a 13600+ read. Ran it today and got 15985 read. Only system change was adding a Radeon 6670 Video card. Does memory speed change this much ? What might cause the disparity ?

Memory speed
I have 4 Gb of corsair 1600MHz C9 DDR3 memory installed on an Asus Crosshair III Formula 790FX motherboard. The motherboard specs said that it supported 1600 MHz memory, yet the memory is only running at 1333 MHz. Do I need to OC the M/board in someway to get the full speed out of the memory...
