Have you overclocked your CPU?
If yes, what settings were changed?

Is there adequate cooling for CPU and RAM?
D/L CPUZ and post the CPU and Memory tabs.
Hi Dave,
Thank you for your reply. I have not overclocked my CPU or RAM (Not confident enough to, need more knowledge) and there is adequate cooling. I'd like some help in pursuing what could be wrong. Computer seems to run good , although it not as fast as I would like.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks..............Tom
A quick search indicates it might be a setting for DirectX accelerators.
Check the settings for your hardware accelerators.
Update the driver for your On Board ATI, if you haven't done that recently.
Best thing would be to start a new thread in Performance & Maintenance.
hey everybody here are my numbers...8GB dual channel ddr3 at 1333mhz
Should be better than that surely? Im getting 15,299.56 with 4Gb DDR2 800
That's actually pretty fast! Especially for PC-6400 (800MHz)... I've got the 2x1GB Corsair kit (same as yours but half capacity) and I get around 8600MB/s. Oh, and despite what people tell you, having more RAM doesn't necessarily make it faster, it does by a very little bit, but it's not a big difference. It's based on the comparison between amount of RAM and physical size of the chips; the smaller they are, the faster data is sent from point A to point B.
Look at the post just above yours, DDR3-1333 and it scored virtually the same as your DDR2-800... Anything 12k or high is generally only seen with PC-8500 (1066MHz) and higher. Nice setup you have going there!
