    Hi Guys ,

Ok so I got some new memory for my PC when I upgraded a few other bits the other week , the memory is 4gb DDR2 OCZ titanium running totally stock 800mhz with 4-4-4-15 timings.

Does this score look about right?

I really have no idea what it should be.

    Cheers

    Paul.

    Looks good.

Are you using IDE or AHCI for your HDD?

    Hi Dave,

Not too sure if its IDE or AHCI for the HDD

Had a quick look in the bios but couldn't see anything to indicate which it is.

    Cheers

Your Memory Assessment is almost the same as my 8GB DDR3 Dual channel.
I'm getting the same WEI memory score.

    Can't complain about that

    Paul.
Look under "Integrated Peripherals" should be something like 'SATA Control Mode'.
Look for IDE, RAID or ACHI, the RAID or AHCI are the settings you want.
Let us know if it's in IDE, it's not just selecting it in BIOS. It will Blue Screen if you try it, but there is an easy way to switch it.

    Check your motherboard manual.

You can get the Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Manual <here

Many thanks for you help Dave.

I have just had a look in the bios under "intergrated peripherals" and the only things I can see that mention IDE are titled - "On chip primary Pci IDE" which is currently set as enabled , then it has "On chip secondary Pci IDE" which is also set to enabled and finally something that says "On chip sata mode" which is set to auto.

    Cheers

    Paul.

    Underclocking... oh well...

My RAM is better than my mobo can handle so it's apparently running at 400, instead of 533, I verified this via CPU-Z and checked G-Skill's web site on qualified motherboards, mine not listed (see my system specs), that and past attempts tweaking with my settings in BIOS failed miserably.

I get BSOD's immediately booting into windows if I change anything in BIOS overclock settings, even though this is just trying to get my memory to it's rated potential, mediocre motherboarditis!

The good news is, my system runs more than satisfactory, though I had kind of forgot about this, and got mad yet again about it, briefly.
Very stable system, just a bummer.

I see Everest basically dropped it's free 'HOME' version like a rock, so old it couldn't show my memory info.
They have their Ultimate edition on sale, which tells me they are about to go to a new version, wondering if they pull the upgrade cost for new version routine even if I just bought it a few months ago, I really hate that sales tactic, A LOT! (cranky on RAM still...)

Also, do winsat ? to see all the options, can check direct-x even.
