    What are your timings? A Guy
    A Guy

    My timings are variable. The yellow marked JEDEC#3 is what they are at the moment.
    If I turn IE9 and Outlook and a couple of other memory hogs off it will drop to JEDEC#2 and the frequency will drop also.
    They will and have dropped down to JEDEC#1 but I have too much running.

    As you can see in the right pic. 1262.7 core speed x9 multiplier. the i7 870 doesn't show Vcore on CPU-Z for some reason but it is 0.87V right now.
    OC'ed to 3.08GHz when needed- not counting turbo boost to 3.4GHz.

    I tried XMP mode in bios. It started at 1.65V on memory voltage. When I put a load on the CPU it would crank the voltage up over 2.0V. I hate to think what a heavy load like AVP or Unigine Heaven benchmark would have done.
    I figure durability over lightning speed.
    If I can't see the difference in performance why bother.
    I run AVP and Unigine Heaven DX-11 benchmarks with no problems as is so why crank everything up?
    Idle smooth and run like a beast when it needs it.
    By the way my WEI scores are 7.5 across the board except the HDD.

    Very nice, that is an extraordinary amount of Ram Good assessment though. A Guy
    Thanks. Yeah, its my work PC (a custom Hewlett Packard z800 Workstation) and I do lots of simulation work that is memory intensive, hence the RAM. Apparently the PC is upgradeable to 128GB RAM, which I would like to test one day.

    These are the summary PC specs:

    MS Windows 7 64 bit
    Dual Quad Core Intel Xeon X5550 @2.67GHz (Gainestown 45nm Technology)
    24GB RAM as above
    Hewlett Packard Motherboard (details unknown)
    512MB Nvidia Quadro FX4500

    The hardest working disk is 3 x 15,000RPM SAS drives mounted as RAID0 (phenomenal speed!).

    I can't figure out how to attach the CPU-Z info on my memory.

    DDR 3 Dual
    Dram Frequency = 666.2
    NB Frequency = 2,131.9 MHZ
    FSBram = 2:10
    Size = 8,192 MBytes

    Cycle time 24 clocks
