Here's some info on it. I have a Dell XPS 430 though so I don't know if there is a lot I can do.

Your DDR3 is in Dual channel and you have 4x2GB RAM cards, with Dell BIOS there's nothing you can change.

If you have 2 RAM cards you can change the slots, if they're not in the right slots it's possible to be in single channel mode.

You've got the standard Dell RAM, same as my Dell, as long as its running good your fine.
Yeah I'm not too worried about it. Everything seems to run fast enough for me. I've just been curious as to why its slower since its DDR3.

What speeds does the ram in your Dell run at?

    I have 6GB DDR2 and it runs at about 6300 MB/s.

Only way to increase performance is to buy better RAM, and with OEM BIOS it will either run or it won't. You can't change any of the RAM settings, so it's best to be happy with what you have.

My Dell desktop is running great at that RAM speed and I'm content to leave it like it is.

    Welcome to Seven Forums MiZeRy,

This might be good or might be not so good, depends on your system specs.
    CPU, motherboard, RAM etc.

With a little info someone can give an opinion or recommendation.

That score for 4GB DDR2 800 is..., let's just say high.

Did you OC the RAM? (obviously, but have to ask)

If you did, to get that kind of performance it's gotta be cranked way up, I would be careful you don't fry it.

This is running at 1600, which I had to OC the processor a bit to get to, even though it's the RAMs rated speed.

No, that's enough info for now.

Sorry to tell you that your specs should be getting near or over 20,000 MB/s

Check you motherboard manual and make sure your RAM is in the recommended slots.

Then use a program like CPUZ to check if your Timings and Voltages are set correctly.

My bad guys. The last post was after an OC related shutdown, so the stats were completely wrong.

Here we go: i5-750 OC'd to 3.36 to get to my RAMs rated speed of 1600.

Much better :) I deleted my post about your speed, lol

You have the same setting as me, 160MHz FSB correct? Turbo on I hope?

Yeah, 160, but I'm set on standard instead of turbo. Still relatively new to OC'ing and don't want to mess up my CPU or RAM until I have enough saved up to upgrade to an i7. Blew out a video card OC'ing last year, so I'm going with baby steps these days. lol
