Popping Sound
Hello,
I'm currently getting some popping and crackling. The issue occurs when I am scrolling through a website like reddit. As I click the scroll bar and slide it down, the sound gets worse the slower I scroll.
I am using two sound cards: Creative Labs XtremeMusic and Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1.
I upgraded my ram to 4 gigs DDR 2 6400 when I purchased Windows 7 and upgraded from my 32 bit XP Media Center Edition. The issue is pretty much resolved on my Creative Labs after the additional RAM, but the AK1, which uses heavier duty drivers, still gives me issues. It pops less when I disable my anti-virus (Avast), but I can't seem to get rid of it entirely. Crucial.com says my ram can't be upgraded beyond 4 gigs. I don't know if this matters, but when I look at my system specs, it says there is 4 gigs installed, but it's only utilizing 3.5.
I've disabled all of the visual effects and run pretty much every tweak I've found out there. The only additional upgrade I've yet to perform is on my video card which is an old ATi Radeon X600.
Will upgrading my video card help at all? Is there anything else to do, or should I just look at upgrading my entire system?
